On average the fiber pullers will pull between 1000-1500 ft, depending on how the duct was installed. If it was installed on flat land with no bends and with good duct integrity (kinks, flats spots, etc.) the distance could increase. However, if the run involves a lot of 90 degree angles, flat spots or kinks, the runs could be much shorter.

Double braided rope or pull tape is recommended for pulling fiber optic cable provided you have the correct break strength. Do not use poly rope when pulling fiber as it may burn through the duct.

The reverse on the F.O. puller is designed to back off tension and not pull fiber as it will harm the hydraulic system. If you would like to run the F.O. Puller in the opposite direction you must either switch the 10ft. Hose on either the foot peddle or the F.O. puller.

It may be that pressure had not have been relieved at the end of the last pull or pressure might have built up in the hydraulic line if it had been stored in a hot environment. To remedy this you must loosen end fittings to allow the fluids to drain and then re-tighten the fittings.
